The mission of the company is to provide clients with practical, independent aviation consulting services coupled with hands-on knowhow sourced from over 200 years of combined experience.

Stanley Wraight is the Co-Founder of Strategic Aviation Solutions (SASI), which he established in 2005 with two partners with extensive backgrounds in Forwarding, Airlines, Integrators and express. SASI is engaged in global consulting and management services for airlines, airports, international trade organizations and financial institutions.

He has over 40 years of senior air cargo management experience in operations, marketing management and CEO or board level experience with four major global cargo airlines. Having lived and travelled extensively in America, Asia and Europe, he is extremely aware of the cultural and business requirements in each part of the world. His extensive management back ground includes his positions as Vice-President of Global Cargo Sales and Marketing for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines; Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the U.S. firm Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings and he led the team that founded Volga Dnepr’s AirBridgeCargo in 2003, which has grown to be a global scheduled cargo operator.

Stan also serves or served on the boards of various companies including scheduled and all cargo airlines, an all passenger LCC airline based in Europe where he was also Vice President and engaged in ACMI services and strategy, ground handling companies and E Commerce logistics entities. SASI is also fully engaged in TIACA and developed the “Air Cargo Professional Development Program” for them to give back to the industry some of the extensive knowledge base required for potential young managers in air cargo logistics.

Stan holds Certificates in Management and Executive Development from McGill University, Montreal.

Stan is the recipient of numerous awards and recognition of his contribution to Aviation.

  • In 2012, he was also named one of the top 100 “Most Influential” people in Global Freight by IFW/Lloyd’s List of the United Kingdom.
  • In 2017 received the “Golden Chariot” award for outstanding achievement in aviation at the United Nations in Geneva.
  • In 2018 Stan was recognized by Air Cargo Weekly (ACW) in its 1000th edition as one of 20 “most influential” in airfreight globally.
  • Stan is also a fellow of the Aerotropolis Institute of China and granted the distinction as expert of the international advisory panel for the Zhengzhou Airport Economic Zone.

Lilian has over 20 years of international experience in senior sales and marketing positions in Panalpina World Transport, TNT International Express and KLM Cargo. She is an ACC3/RA3/KC3 EU AVSEC Validator.

 Lilian delivers programs on behalf of IATA, TIACA and other organizations and facilitates at the IATA-University of Geneva Aviation Management Program. She is also an accredited Coach and qualified Train-the-Trainer.

 She applies a pragmatic and commercial approach while focusing on bringing out the best in each individual.

Mark Diamond

Vice President

Mark Diamond, based in Boston, USA, brings more than 30 years of consulting, government and industry experience in air transportation, with a focus on strategy and business planning to S.A.S.I. His work covers both air cargo and passenger operations.

Formerly leader of air cargo consulting activities at the global management consulting firm ICF, Mark spearheaded a consulting alliance with SASI in 2016. He has directed numerous air cargo consulting projects, including a business plan for the cargo handling division of a major Gulf hub airline, a freighter fleet plan for a Middle East flag carrier and market assessments for several freighter aircraft manufacturers.

Mark has prepared cargo service development strategies for four major hub airports in North America. He has also led market studies, master plan "future-proofing" exercises and forecasts in support of cargo infrastructure development at airports in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Latin America.

Mark also has worked extensively with passenger airlines worldwide as well as service providers (including MRO's), financial institutions and governments. His services include overall strategic planning, network and fleet planning, alliance and acquisition strategy, operations improvement, restructuring, due diligence and privatization support.

Prior to joining ICF's aviation practice (formerly known as SH&E) in 1997, Mark held positions with Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), the aviation consultancy Kurth & Company, the FAA and American Airlines. He holds MBA and BA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and an MPP from Harvard University. He is fluent in both English and French.

Charles Edwards

Strategic Aviation Solutions International, Associate since January 2020 – current, (previously, since March 2010, a contract instructor), worldwide locations. Charles joined the North Carolina Department of Transportation in March 2016 as the Director – Logistics Strategy. As of January 2018, he was appointed Acting Director of the NCDOT Rail division and Director of the NCDOT Logistics and Freight division. His work includes freight logistics planning, working with planners on freight related issues, and developing logistics solutions for North Carolina companies. Edwards was previously the Executive Director of the North Carolina Center for Global Logistics.

He holds degrees from universities in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. He served on the faculty of the Darden School at the University of Virginia and has been a guest lecturer at universities in North Carolina and New Mexico. He is a frequent speaker and writer about aviation and logistics topics.

In 2010, he co-authored Transport Logistics: The Wheel of Commerce and a contributing author of the MHI sponsored Material Handling & Logistics Roadmap 2.0 (2017). Mr. Edwards has hosted the UNC-Chapel Hill - Tsinghua University Logistics EMBA program in Dubai and is co-developer of the Air Cargo Professional Development workshop program of The International Air Cargo Association. He also serves on various international and US logistics industry boards.

Balasubramanian P, aka Bala is a veteran with a global experience of four decades plus based in India.  Bala commenced his career with Air India with experience across commercial operations of passenger handling, ramp and cargo handling including a good stint with its Staff College as faculty. He moved on to Emirates Airline, one of the leading global airlines and was with them for nearly 25 years. During this period, he was also actively with global bodies such as ICAO, IATA and IAEA in the creation of regulatory and industry provisions including co-authoring global industry manuals for compliance worldwide. 

Bala is among the globally well-known industry figures contributing and influencing the course and direction of the industry. He is a prolific international speaker and a panel moderator at global conferences and seminars on Dangerous Goods, Ground/Cargo Handling and Operations, Cool Chain and Logistics. 

His international credentials include:

  • Vice Chairman at IATA Dangerous Goods Board
  • One of the founder members of IATA Cargo Handling Council
  • Advisor to IATA and UAE at the ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel

Jesse Cohen

Jesse Cohen

Based in Chicago, Jesse has 40 years of combined airline and freight forwarder cargo experience, with particular expertise and top leadership experience in airline cargo pricing and revenue management.

Starting out his career in Houston, he joined United Cargo in Chicago where he held a variety of commercial leadership roles in revenue management, sales, product management and marketing. He was promoted to United’s Managing Director for Cargo Pricing and Revenue Management where he led a team of 25 overseeing capacity management, pricing, network optimization and revenue planning for United’s $1B+ cargo business worldwide. Following the United/Continental merger in 2010, he helped lead the combined airline’s integration efforts for systems, people and processes.

After leaving United, Jesse held field commercial leadership roles in the Americas at Etihad Cargo and SilkWay West Airlines where he gained additional experience in GSSA management, business development, and freighter planning and operations.

Most recently he served as Air Cargo Market Expert at FreightWaves, leading the development of air cargo market intelligence for the SaaS freight transportation platform and media provider.

Uwe Beck and Ralph Goetz

Both Uwe and Ralph bring to SASI clients decades of global experience in state of the art air cargo facilities design, and in particular material handling system (MHS) technologies. Under their leadership, leading airlines in the world have benefitted with both greenfield and brownfield site facility improvements covering all aspects required in today’s air cargo environment.

SASI team clients have included major airports in North America, Europe and the Gulf.

Jack F. Keery

Jack has been part of the air cargo industry for over 40 years beginning with a sales and operations career. After holding senior and executive management positions with scheduled airlines and the FedEx enterprise in Canada, Jack began a consulting and interim management career that now spans +25 years, having served clients such as IATA, British Airways, KLM Cargo, Cargo Service Centre (CSC), Swissport and the GE/Lynxs Group, amongst others.


Paul Sawhny

Paul is a highly specialized professional who focuses on fleet planning and asset management in the aircraft market. Paul recently led engagements with large multi-national equipment Lessor and financial institutions in the development of freighter fleet planning strategies. In addition Paul has played an important role in concluding the procurement of aircraft for various operators and financial institutions. Paul is regarded as the leading industry expert on the conversion of passenger aircraft to all cargo configurations.

Paul has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a MBA in Business Administration and is based in New York.

Roy Douthwaite

Roy is acknowledged as a global expert in E Commerce, from both the E Retailer and Air Cargo logistics requirements. Providing leading edge solutions for our clients, Roy has demonstrated his expertise especially regarding technology solutions, and operational aspects.

Roy has over 40 years of air cargo, aviation and IT Systems experience. His career began in the Royal Air Force, gaining in-depth training, knowledge and practical experience across abroad spectrum of roles in cargo, passenger, air operations and aircraft.

Gaining experience in key areas within Freight Forwarding, Cargo Airline, Wholesale, GSSA and IT system environments from Customer Services, through to management and accounting.

Whether creating the cargo services or assuming existing cargo services, his objective is always been the same. To link all parties in the supply chain so that it is effective, consistent and mutually beneficial for all participants.
