UN Calls for Digitization in Air Cargo: SASI World Endorses New Directive

SASI World supports UN's latest directive on digitization and data corridors, urging the air cargo industry to embrace digital transformation.

Today, the UN released its latest directive on the need for digitization and the data corridors which are so prevalent today in sea freight, but in air cargo we are lagging behind.

This report was co-authored by Charles Edwards, VP of SASI World, and is a worthwhile and informative read.

We know from our regular discussions with ICAO, government authorities, airlines, and shippers and consignees that this is the direction that soon will be mandated, and we need to be prepared.

Safety and Security is one major benefit, but there are so many more, such as speed, transparency, quality, and compliance support, as well as assisting in achieving the lowest possible unit costs for all parties. We must, as an industry, fully embrace this.

The existing SASI World "Smart Cargo Airports” proprietary program fully endorses Data and Logistics corridors, as well as digital cargo community systems at airports to achieve what the UN and ICAO will eventually mandate, in our opinion.

On an additional piece of news, please check out our refreshed and improved web page, where we hope the ease of use will meet your approval.

You can read the full report on the UN's official website.
